Fighter Jets from the World War 2 era to the most modern fighters are listed here from all major countries of the world.
Whether it be a F/A-22 Raptor from the U.S Air Force, F-14A from the U.S Navy, a Russian MiG-29 or a MiG-31 Foxhound, a British Typhoon F-2 or a Tornado F-3.
All the images one can locate and enjoy together with all the information, capabilities, armament will be here for you to research and enjoy.
Details on airshows and joyrides, museums and anything else to do with fighter jets and fighter planes will be located right here.
Let's get started right here with famous fighters from the past:-
Jet Fighter Planes from -
World War 2
World War 2 saw the commencement of jet fighters with airplanes such as the Gloster Meteor.
The Gloster Meteor was used by the United Kingdom throughout the Second World War.
It was equipped with two Rolls Royce turbojets and had a top speed of Mach 0.82 equivalent to 624mph or 1004 km/h (542 knots).
From Germany came two separate models of the Messerschmitt
The first was the Messerschmitt Me163. This aircraft had a liquid-fuel rocket and had a top speed of 596mph or 960 km/h or 518 knots. Speeds of this nature were quite problematic as to be of any use in the air the Me163 had to fly up to a good altitude and then strike enemy aircraft as it was returning to Earth as the fuel supply on board was very limited.
The next of the jet fighters was the Messerschmitt Me262.
Operating with two Junkers turbojets this aircraft could produce a top speed of 541mph or 870 km/h or 470 knots.
American Fighter Jets
Stealth technology at it's best comes in the form of a fighter jet known as the F/A-22, F-22 or the F-22A Raptor belonging to the USAF.
Estimated top speed of this aircraft is approx 1.7 Mach in Supercruise mode without afterburners and well in excess of 2.0 Mach with afterburners.
The Raptor is capable of making greater than 22 + G's turn however pilots can only maintain consciousness at 15 + G's. Therefore what happens is the aircraft returns to straight and level flight until the pilot wakes again.
Armament consists of air-to-air missiles which are carried within the belly of the aircraft so as to maintain it's stealth capabilities. When fired a hydraulic arm removes the missiles from the belly which opens for 1 second only.
The aircraft also carries bombs from it's Joint Direct Attack Munition guidance system and a 20mm cannon holding 480 rounds which lasts only 5 seconds.
With this particular aircraft costing US$138 million orders for 183 F/A 22's are in place.
Of all the aircraft I have ever seen whether from Airshows conducted by one of the many Airforces around the world or from movies, videos, DVDs etc. this particular clip is possibly the most amazing Russian Jet or jet fighter ever.
