Continental Airlines

continental airlines 01

Continental Airlines today (May 2008) is one of America's largest airline companies carrying passengers and cargo worldwide to over 270 destinations. That's quite impressive. Did you know they have been in operation since 1934? That's really impressive.

Using Boeing aircraft they service many short, medium and long haul flights from Newark Liberty International Airport in Newark, New Jersey; George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport in Cleveland, Ohio. These airports are the operational hubs for Continental.

Not bad for an airline that started out by flying from Pueblo Colorado to El Paso Texas stopping in Las Vegas, Santa Fe and Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Now you can board a Continental airplane and travel to such places as the three Americas (North, Central and South America), China, Japan, India, Europe including The United Kingdom, Israel and the Caribbean Islands.

Here's something that you have probably not heard of - a Continental Pass.

Did you know that at Continental you can get your boarding pass via an email enabled cell phone or handheld device instead of the traditional paper version?

Excellent Service wouldn't you say?

Continental Aircraft

continental airlines 02 The main working horse (or should I say aircraft) of Continental Airlines fleet is the Boeing 737.

This aircraft is used to carry passengers to destinations throughout America, Mexico, Canada and The Caribbean. Depending on which particular aircraft one flies on you could be traveling with approximately 120 to 175 other passengers.

continental airlines 03 The Boeing 757's are a larger aircraft and therefore carry more passengers. These aircraft will carry approximately 175 to 215 people throughout America, Mexico and The Caribbean.

The Boeing 757-200 has "BusinessFirst" seating for 16 of it's passengers. Basically this means traveling comfort with lumbar support, a foot and head rest and in seat power.

continental airlines 04 When traveling to South America, Europe, Hawaii or Asia you would board a Boeing 767 aircraft.

Continental currently own 26 of this particular aircraft which seats approximately 175 to 255 passengers.

These aircraft also provide "BusinessFirst seats which have a 55" pitch and 156 degree decline.

The Boeing 777 aircraft carries 285 passengers to international destinations.

Passengers also get to enjoy a 55" pitch with a 170 degree decline for more R & R (rest and relaxation).

The 777 aircraft are also provided with more storage space than Economy class passengers.

Continental Airlines Future

Continental have come a long way in the aviation industry.

They have won many awards regarding customer service. Airlines sometimes struggle at best to provide this type of quality service to those who keep them flying i.e we the passengers.

Currently Continental have orders placed with Boeing for 25 787 aircraft. Some of these are expected to enter service in 2009 with the remainder being supplied in 2012.
