Airbus A321

airbus 321 01

The Airbus A321 is another member of the A320 family of aircraft and is the largest of the four - A318, A319, A320 & A321.

In November 1989 Airbus decided to launch into the making of the A321 and three and a half years later it's maiden flight was completed in March 1993.

Using the model of the A320 Airbus decided to add two extra portions to the fuselage thereby extending the length by approx 7 meters or 23 feet. This of course means that this particular aircraft carries more passengers.

Variants of the A321

As with the A320, the A321 also has two variants, the A321-100 and the A321-200.
A321-100
Has the same fuel capacity as the A320 and due to the added weight of this particular aircraft has a reduced flight distance.

A321-200
Is equipped with more powerful engines and an extra fuel tank thereby making it able to fly coast to coast across America.
